1. Policy Statement
O'Loughlin Construction & Civil is fully committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, subcontractors, clients, and members of the public who may be affected by our work.
We recognise our responsibility to provide and maintain a safe working environment, safe systems of work, and adequate information, training, and supervision to prevent injury, ill health, or damage.
Health and safety is considered an integral part of all construction and civil engineering activities carried out by the company.
2. Responsibilities
Management
Management is responsible for:

Complying with all relevant health & safety legislation and regulations

Providing safe plant, equipment, and materials
-
Ensuring risk assessments and method statements are prepared and implemented

Providing appropriate training, instruction, and supervision
-
Monitoring health & safety performance and addressing hazards promptly
Employees & Subcontractors
All employees and subcontractors are required to:

Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others
-
Follow site rules, risk assessments, and method statements
-
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
-
Report hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately
-
Co-operate fully with management on health & safety matters
3. Risk Management
The company will:

Identify hazards associated with construction, civil, and landscaping activities

Carry out risk assessments for all work activities
-
Implement control measures to reduce risks
-
Review risk assessments regularly and when work conditions change
4. Training & Competence
O'Loughlin Construction & Civil will ensure that:

All workers are competent to carry out their duties safely
-
Site-specific inductions are provided
-
Relevant training is provided for plant operation, manual handling, working at height, and other high-risk activities
-
Supervisors are competent and experienced
5. Site Safety
We are committed to maintaining safe construction sites by:

Ensuring clear access and egress
-
Maintaining good housekeeping
-
Properly storing materials and equipment
-
Using signage, barriers, and traffic management where required

Protecting the public from site activities
6. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Appropriate PPE will be provided and must be worn at all times where required, including:

High-visibility clothing

Safety footwear
-
Helmets
-
Gloves
-
Eye and hearing protection
7. Accidents & Emergency Procedures
All accidents, incidents, and near misses must be reported immediately.
The company will:

Investigate incidents

Implement corrective actions

Maintain first aid provisions on all sites

Ensure emergency procedures are in place and communicated
8. Subcontractors & Suppliers
All subcontractors and suppliers must:

Comply with this Health & Safety Policy

Provide relevant safety documentation where required

Work in accordance with site rules and safe systems of work
9. Policy Review
This Health & Safety Policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as required to reflect changes in legislation, work practices, or company operations.
